Peterborough entrepreneur launches new kind of social media Wakhal’s Community4E has had 40,000 users sign up NEWS May 01, 2019 by Jessica Nyznik Examiner Staff Writer A client of the Innovation Cluster has launched a new social media platform. Rojit Sorokhaibam is the CEO and founder of Wakhal, a digital startup company. It aims to redefine social media into a productive and useful tool. Last month, Wakhal released a browser version of Community4E, a community building platform. It's currently available to organizations and business owners. Community4E merges mainstream social media, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Eventbrite, offering access to all accounts on one platform. The platform mirrors a real-world community, but on a virtual and global scale. Community4E has an event dashboard, can run campaigns, such as crowdfunding and community surveys, and has instant messaging. Since its release last month, more than 40,000 people have registered with Community4E. Sorokhaibam launched the platform out of the Innovation Cluster, which promotes entrepreneurship and helps young people bring ideas to life. So far, organizations such as the Innovation Cluster, City of Kawartha Lakes Economic Development, Oshawa's Spark Centre, and Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network have signed up to test out the platform. Transparency and security are key components of Community4E. Members have a much higher level of control over the privacy of their information and they control the system, rather than it being centrally managed by a company.
